Petroleum and chemical companies enjoy RCEP dividends
Latest News: By the end of June, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) will be officially implemented for half a year. The reporter learned from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation on July 4 that my country’s total import and export of petrochemicals to RCEP member countries from January to May reached 114.95 billion US dollars, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year.
According to Pang Guanglian, member of the Standing Committee and Deputy Secretary General of the Party Committee of the Petrochemical Federation and Secretary General of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance, the latest statistics show that from January to May, my country’s total import and export of petrochemicals to RCEP member countries has reached 1,149.5 billion US dollars, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year. Among them, trade exports to South Korea increased significantly, with an export value of 10.06 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 39.5%, and the export growth rate in May was as high as 64.1%.
It is understood that during the six months since the official implementation of RCEP, the “circle of friends” of RCEP has continued to expand. From January 1 this year, the RCEP has officially entered into force for 10 countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand; Effective for Malaysia and for Myanmar from May 1.
From January to May, the scale of trade between China and ASEAN increased by more than 10% year-on-year; the scale of trade with South Korea and New Zealand also increased. At present, the number of RCEP’s 15 signatory member states has reached 13, which has continuously released more dividends for enterprises and consumers in each member state.
Pang Guanglian said that in order to guide petroleum and chemical companies to better understand the relevant rules of RCEP, help them participate in it and enjoy the dividends brought by RCEP, they will carry out collective training for central and state-owned enterprises recently.
