Origin Materials and Kuraray Form Partnership to Commercialize Negative Carbon Polymer Materials
Latest: Origin Materials (West Sacramento, CA) and Kuraray Corporation (Tokyo) announced a strategic partnership to commercialize advanced carbon-negative materials for different polymer applications.
As part of a strategic partnership, The Kuraray Company and Origin
Materials has signed a capacity retention agreement to purchase sustainable carbon-negative intermediate chemicals for the large-scale synthesis of many polymers, including PTA, PET and polyamides. Materials from Origin will enhance Kuraray’s mission to develop innovative solutions with unique products and cleaner technologies to improve the natural environment and improve the quality of life for people everywhere.
Origin’s patented technology platform converts carbon from sustainable wood residues into useful materials that can help revolutionize the production of various end products and support industry’s transition to sustainable materials and low greenhouse gas emissions.
