Hyosung Creora® Bio-based Spandex Receives Global SGS Certification for the First Time
Latest News: On July 26, 2022, Hyosung Corporation, the world’s largest spandex manufacturer and the world’s first developer to commercialize bio-based spandex, was awarded the Standard Global Services (SGS) ), which guarantees that creora® bio-based spandex is made from plant material and is produced in a harmless and eco-friendly environment. SGS is a leading inspection and verification company recognized worldwide for providing international standards of quality and reliability.
Hyosung’s creora® bio-based spandex is made by replacing 30% of petroleum-based resources with bio-based raw materials extracted from industrial corn (also known as dent corn). According to a recent third-party Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the production of creora® bio-based spandex reduces the carbon footprint by 23% compared to the production of regular spandex.
In addition, the sustainably grown raw materials used to make this fiber are grown by farmers who aim to protect the land, air and water and measure their efforts.
