Changing a New World——Wuhan Yili Paint “oil” to “water” knowledge
When it comes to the paint coating workshop, the first thing everyone thinks about is the dirty environment and the pungent smell. On the 5th, when the reporter walked into Wuhan Yili Coating Co., Ltd. located in Wuhan Xingang Panwan Industrial Park, this traditional impression was “subverted.”
The newly-built workshops and office buildings are scattered in a neat pattern, with vibrant green seedlings dotted among them, like small courtyards of villas; walking into the production workshop, all kinds of equipment operate in an orderly manner, the walls and floors are spotless, and there is no smell in the airpaint.
Can the paint shop be so clean and tidy? Where is the peculiar smell of paint?
Before the production line with an annual output of 5,000 tons of water-based industrial coatings, the company’s general manager Zhang Fanghua explained the mystery here: traditional paint’s solvents and thinners are flammable, explosive and volatile, so they smell Pungent. The company actively promotes the change from “oil” to “water”, and develops and produces new water-based coatings using water as solvent and thinner.
“Water-based coating is mainly composed of water-based resin, pigments, fillers, additives and water. It uses water as solvent and diluent, and does not contain benzene, toluene, xylene, formaldehyde, etc. It is non-toxic and non-irritating. So although it is a production workshop, it is very safe and environmentally friendly, without any peculiar smell.” Zhang Fanghua said with a smile, here, everyone can breathe freely.
Entering the company’s water-based resin workshop, four 10-cube and four 8-cube all-stainless steel reactors are arranged in an orderly manner. The briefing card shows that it mainly produces various resins required for water-based coatings. The planned total investment is 12 million yuan, which can produce 3,000 tons of water-based resins per year.
“You see, the workshop uses a three-layer three-dimensional design. The feeding area, operation area, and filter area are completely separated. This completely solves the dirty, messy, and poor phenomenon that traditional technology is prone to.” Zhang Fanghua said that the workshop adopts automatic control. Temperature system to improve product quality.
How did the market react to changing “oil” to “water”?
“The core competitiveness of the paint coating market is environmental protection.” Zhang Fanghua has been doing paints and coatings for more than 20 years. class=”keylink”>The development trend of the coatings market has its own judgment. In 2016, Zhang Fanghua invested nearly 40 million yuan to establish Wuhan Yili coating company in Panwan Industrial Park, specializing in the research and development, production and sales of water-based paint and coating technology. Last year, the company invested an additional 40 million yuan to build new projects with an annual output of 3,000 tons of water-based resin and 8,000 tons of water-based paint. The articles about changing “oil” to “water” are getting bigger and bigger.
“Orders for water-based coatings have been placed in the second half of the year, and the company is expected to have an annual output value of 150 million yuan this year.” Zhang Fanghua said that as the concept of environmental protection is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the “oil” change to “water” will surely usher in a broad space. The company’s short-term “small goal” is to exceed 500 million yuan in annual output within 5 years.
