A piece of glass “adds green” to the building
It is the midsummer season. The sun outside the house is shining brightly in the sky, the light inside the house is soft, and the temperature is comfortable. Wandering in the Yuelai Ecological Museum in Liangjiang New District, Chongqing, looking at the roof, the originally bright lighting glass has become “foggy”.
How smart can this glass be? Automatic shading, blocking more than 90% of infrared and ultraviolet rays, lowering the indoor temperature… “Each piece of glass can be set to a specific memory temperature. If the memory temperature is exceeded, the glass will fog, the temperature will drop, and it will return to a transparent state. “As early as 2015, Chongqing Qinhe Investment Group established Hewei Technology Co., Ltd. to research green building materials. This Gutejia thermo-dimmable insulating glass is the company’s core product.
“In summer, the glass can automatically reduce the room temperature by 6-8 degrees through atomization. In winter, the smart glass turns into a transparent state, allowing more warm sunlight to enter the room, and the indoor temperature increases by 2-3 degrees.” Hewei Technology Zeng Kai, the company’s deputy director of R&D, told reporters that while providing people with a comfortable experience, it also makes the building “green” and “energy-saving”. The noise”.
In fact, at the beginning of research and development, Hewei Technology also encountered many difficulties. “Just the sealing device on the glass, we have tested hundreds of materials.” Now, smart glass can freely set the “memory temperature” between -20°C and 70°C. In the company’s laboratory, Zeng Kai is doing data simulations in front of the computer: “Different geographic environments, customers need different glass memory temperatures.” Zeng Kai calculated the annual glass based on geographic coordinates, temperature data from previous years, and solar radiation. The change in surface temperature then sets the atomization temperature of the glass.
Nowadays, in Chongqing, many buildings have adopted such smart glass in their daylighting roofs and glass curtain walls. In commercial complexes, the daylighting roofs formed by smart glass have reduced the energy consumption of shopping malls by 15%; in Chongqing In the Liangjiang New Hospital of the Municipal People’s Hospital, the smart glass roof in the outpatient hall brings a more comfortable experience to patients; in the library of Chongqing Academy of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the memory temperature of each piece of glass on the facade is different. As the temperature changes during the day, different glasses are atomized, looking like a dynamic picture of auspicious clouds from a distance…
Smart thermal glass, sponge bricks, prefabricated green buildings…More and more green building materials are improving people’s quality of life. “Our products have changed the way of traditional building shading and energy saving. In the next step, we will innovate and upgrade new materials, which will be used more widely to improve the energy saving of current high-energy buildings and new generation system doors and windows. At the same time, on the basis of preliminary tests , Apply this energy-saving material to high-end crop greenhouses, provide a more intelligent, digital, and standardized growth environment for unmanned greenhouse planting, and deeply participate in the national rural revitalization and digital rural development strategy.” Deng Hua, chairman of the Qinhe Group, told reporter.
