The “Shenhai No. 1” large gas field has cumulatively produced over 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas
On June 25, China National Offshore Oil Corporation announced that my country’s first self-operated ultra-deep water gas field “Shenhai No. 1” was put into operation for the first year. With more than 200,000 cubic meters of oil, it has become the main gas field in my country to ensure the supply of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Hainan Free Trade Port “from sea to land”, which is of great strategic significance for ensuring national energy security.
One year ago today, at the “Shenhai No. 1” energy station located in the Lingshui waters of southeastern Hainan Island, the platform torch was slowly ignited. The offshore supersonic supercar with the deepest average water depth and the most difficult exploration and development has ever been discovered in my country. The successful commissioning of the deep-water gas field marks the historic leap of China’s offshore oil industry from 300 meters to 1,500 meters of ultra-deep water.
It is understood that the “Shenhai No. 1” large gas field adopts the whole-sea production mode development of “semi-submersible production platform + underwater production device + submarine pipeline”, and pioneers the world’s unique “thermo flask liner type” column storage Oil technology can realize on-site separation of produced oil and gas and safe storage of condensate oil, effectively reduce the laying cost of submarine oil and gas pipelines, and explore a new path for economical and efficient development of deep-sea natural gas.
The “Shenhai No. 1” large gas field reached its peak production capacity within 5 months of being put into operation, providing sufficient energy supply for downstream users, but also bringing challenges to on-site production management. “Under the condition that the gas field production remains at a high level, we continue to improve production management measures, optimize the production process, and establish a complete set of key deepwater oil and gas equipment and important operation plans, solving many problems that affect the safe and stable production of gas fields. It is expected that the annual output in 2022 will reach 3 billion cubic meters.” said Lei Yafei, director of the “Deep Sea No. 1” large gas field.
Li Li, deputy general manager of CNOOC Hainan Branch, said that CNOOC has improved its ability to ensure national energy security through the establishment of a trillion-dollar gas field. As the backbone of the “Shenhai No. 2” project team, he accelerated the construction of my country’s first deep-water high temperature and high pressure gas field “Shenhai No. 2” (Lingshui 25-1), and strived to achieve efficient continuous development of deep-sea oil and gas resources. The new project will be fully integrated into the existing natural gas supply system, further expand the scale of deep-water natural gas production, and improve my country’s energy self-sufficiency rate.
