Coatings industry green standard seminar held in Beijing

On February 27, 2019, the China Chemical Industry Environmental Protection Association and the China Coating Industry Association organized a green standard discussion on the coating industry in Beijing Can. Sun Lianying, President of the China Coatings Industry Association, said that as the first key task of this year, the China Coatings Industry Association will focus on promoting the coating industry Green standard system construction. The coating industry should take the green manufacturing system as the key link to promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry. Through two or three years of exploration, under the guidance of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, the standardization work of the China Coatings Industry Association has made considerable progress. In the next step, the association will strengthen the standard publicity and implementation work, combining the superior strength of China Coatings University, to promote the standard publicity and implementation. As the year of green standardization in 2019, China Coatings Industry Association will give full play to the role of talents and actively organize the preparation of green factory and green design product standards in the coatings industry.
　　 Zhou Xianhui, chairman of the China Chemical Environmental Protection Association, pointed out that as a key task in promoting green manufacturing projects, green standards have played an important leading role. China Chemical Industry Environmental Protection Association and China Coatings Industry Association have worked closely together to participate in the green standard research project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the green design product standard of the Petrochemical Federation, and the preparation of national standards and industrial standards, effectively leading the transformation and development of the coating industry. Among them, the “Technical Specification for Evaluation of Green Design Products Waterborne Architectural Coatings” was rated as the “2018 Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Hundred Group Standard Application Demonstration Projects”, and completed the chemical industry standard a year ago. The review has laid a good foundation for the formulation of green standards in the coatings industry. The next key task is to further establish a green standard system for the coatings industry and establish an industry model.
At the meeting, “Guidelines for the Evaluation of Green Factory in the Coating Industry”, “Guidelines for the Evaluation of Green Factory in the Titanium Dioxide Industry”, “Technical Specification for Evaluation of Green Design Products Water-based Wood Coatings“, “Green Five standards including Design Product Evaluation Technical Specifications for Metal Oxide Mixed Phase Pigments and “Green Design Product Evaluation Technical Specifications for Cathodic Electrodeposition Coatings” were reviewed and discussed.
　　 The expert group unanimously agreed that three standards, including the “Evaluation Guidelines for Green Factory in the Coating Industry”, “Evaluation Guidelines for Green Factory in the Titanium Dioxide Industry”, and “Technical Specifications for Evaluation of Green Design Products-Cathodic Electrophoretic Coatings”, passed the open-topic review.
　　 “Technical Specification for Evaluation of Green Design Products-Waterborne Wood Coatings” and “Technical Specification for Evaluation of Green Design Products-Metal Oxide Miscible Pigments” and other two standards were revised in accordance with expert opinions and then drafted for review.
