Chenyang teamed up with Hebei University of Science and Technology to develop water-based industrial metal protective coatings

At present, the output of coatings in China ranks first in the world, but the dominant one is still solvent-based coatings, which release a large amount of VOC, which is harmful to the environment. And human health pose a huge threat, and the output of water-based environmentally friendly industrial coatings is much lower than that of European and American countries, and most of them are low-end products. The main reason is the poor performance of water-based resin, the base material for water-based industrial coatings, which makes it difficult to achieve the effect of foreign products.
In order to solve the above problems, a joint research team composed of Hebei Chenyang Industry and Trade Group and Hebei University of Science and Technology undertook to complete the design, key preparation technology and industrialization projects of water-based industrial metal protective coatings.
In response to the demand for water-based metal industrial protective coatings, this project started with the resin used in water-based coatings. The excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance of “keylink”>epoxy resin are combined with the good weather resistance and flexibility of acrylic. The top coating is designed as a water-based alkyd modified polyurethane/acrylate coating to give full play to Polyurethane has excellent weather resistance and alkyd gloss. In addition, the project also explored the cross-linking film forming mechanism of synthetic resins, and solved the problem of poor water resistance and low adhesion of domestic water-based industrial metal coatings by forming polymer complexes and dense passivation films between fillers, base materials and substrates. , Technical problems such as insufficient gloss retention and corrosion resistance.
The project has developed water-based protective coating products for containers, construction machinery, high-speed rail and metal structures, and built a fully automated production line of water paint. The products have passed the EU SGS and British WRAS testing certifications. It has been promoted and applied in industrial fields such as Sany Heavy Industry, Xugong Machinery, CRRC, Tangshan Locomotive, Great Wall Motor and Beijing Bird’s Nest Recoating Project, which has increased the utilization rate of industrial metal water paint in China.
In the past three years, the project has promoted 59,600 tons of coatings and reduced VOC emissions by 38,700 tons, which has promoted the technological progress and transformation and upgrading of my country’s coating industry, and promoted the development of water-based coatings in my country. Promote the application and the process of energy saving and environmental protection.
