Wenzhou City implements paint pollution control and promotes the use of water-based paints
Recently, the reporter learned from the Municipal Housing and Construction Committee that in order to strengthen the implementation of the Zhejiang Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan, effectively improve the quality of the city’s residential environment, and protect the health of the people, the Municipal Housing and Construction Committee issued a special document on strengthening the control of decoration pollution and vigorously promoted the use ofWater-based paint.
The notice puts forward higher requirements on the use of paints. The internal and external wall coatings of civil buildings are mandatory to use water-based paints, and the use of solvent-based internal outer wall coatingsAnd solvent-based internal and external wall adhesives. At the same time, the design unit and construction drawing review agency shall strictly implement the above requirements in architectural design, decoration design and review. The competent construction department shall strictly control the work of building design and construction supervision. Vigorously advocate the implementation of the above requirements in home decoration.
An official from the New Wall Office in Wenzhou City stated that paint generally contains a large amount of harmful substances such as benzene and formaldehyde, and these harmful substances often come from paint solvents. Paints usually use toxic and polluting solvents (such as thinner water and banana water) as diluents. The harmful substances they release not only threaten human health, but also pollute the environment. The fundamental difference between water-based paint and paint is that water-based paint uses water as a solvent, is non-flammable, non-explosive, non-toxic, non-irritating, harmless to humans, and meets environmental protection requirements.
