GB/T 9799—2011 Metal and other inorganic coatings, treated zinc plating on steel

This standard specifies the requirements for treated zinc plating on steel. The content of this standard includes the information that needs to be provided to the electroplating manufacturer and the requirements for heat treatment before and after electroplating.

This standard does not apply to:

——The zinc electroplating layer of unprocessed steel plates, strips and wires;

•——The zinc electroplated layer of densely wound spring;

——Zinc electroplating layer for non-protective decorative purposes.

This standard does not specify the requirements for the surface condition of the base metal before electroplating galvanizing, but the defects of the base metal surface will adversely affect the appearance and film performance.

The thickness of the electroplated layer on the threaded part can be limited by the size requirements such as thread grade or assembly.
